The Vennel Gallery is a restored 18th century cottage in the conservation award winning Glasgow Vennel. The Glasgow Vennel was once the main road to Glasgow. The gallery includes the Heckling Shop where poet Robert Burns, worked as a flax heckler in 1781. He learned the trade in order to dress the flax he grew at Mossgiel. Nearby at number 4 is the Lodging House where Burns lived.
