Troon Harbour provides great views of the coast across to Arran, south to Ayr and North along the coast to Ardrossan. The best views are from the Ballast Bank, a man-made hill adjacent to the harbour area. It was constructed from the ballast of ships in order to protect the harbour from the prevailing winds. The harbour is home to the Seacat, a twin-hulled, ferry which provides a pedestrian and car link to Belfast. It takes around 2.5 hours to cross. For more information on times and fares click here.
