Start the walk from either the Car Park across from Nardini's for a clockwise trail or from the Haylie Brae car park for the opposite loop. Alternatively there is a small car park at the start of the Gogo Glen path at the top of Flatt Road. This description is a clockwise loop.

Make your way up the Main Street and after the pedestrian crossing near the Railway Station turn left, past the Post Office, turn right onto Gateside Street which becomes Flatt Road. At the top of the road take the right fork to find the start of the path. Here is a small car park and a path leading down to the Gogo Water. Take this short detour to appreciate the heavily wooded Gogo Glen.

From the Gogo Glen car park take the paved road through the gate up the hill. Continue along the side of the hill through the fields following the path to the waterfalls. Here the Greeto tumbles down into the Gogo. There are good views over Largs at the start of the climb. Note that the path is steep at times and can be wet underfoot. Continue to follow the path until you cross the Gogo Water to the other side of the Glen to make your way West again.

The path winds along the South side of Gogo Glen through tufty moorland. Eventually you will reach the viewpoint above Largs. Rest here for some spectacular views of the West Coast, Largs, Cumbrae, Bute and Arran. The path then drops down to the Haylie Brae car park (if you started this way) or down the hill into Douglas Park.

Make a short detour in Douglas Park to view the ancient burial chamber. Leave the Park, cross the road and drop down to the beachfront and head North to your starting point.

For a less energetic stroll miss out the loop up the Glen and still enjoy some fine views either end of the walk.
