At Ayr, as you cross the New Bridge, you can see the meandering shape of the Auld Brig which dates from 1236. It was mentioned in Burns' poem the Twa Brigs.

Just right of the traffic lights as you cross the New Bridge is the historic Loudon Hall the finest example of a 16th century town house in Scotland. It is usually open to the public.

As you approach the new Apartments on the harbourside you will see the Citadel Leisure Centre where you can enjoy a range of activities or stop off for a coffee. If you have your camera with you the photograph below was taken from the edge of the harbour next to the apartments.
